Preparing for your appointment

Booking
When booking your hair appointment, please let me know as much information about your hair and whether it's thick, fine, very curly or wavy. This can help me gauge if I need more time for your appointment.

Your Products
A tiny bit of product is great so I can see how your hair naturally falls but please no crunchy curls or tangled hair. Let me know if you struggle with frizz and what your current curl routine looks like. An additional charge will be added to very tangled hair.

The Finish
We'll finish your appointment drying your hair using a hood dryer and diffuser before refining any rogue curls. Prepare to be moved around, backwards and upside down for this part!

Preparation
Whether you wash your hair the night before or on the day, please ensure your hair is 100% dry on arrival with no band marks so I can see your natural curl pattern.

The Haircut
After your consultation, I will cut your hair dry so we can see the shape taking form, then cleanse and hydrate. In some cases a treatment mask maybe needed and I will advise at the beginning of your appointment and whether your hair would benefit from this. Colouring services come after the cut.

Homecare Advice
Finally as a Boucleme Stockist, I will advise on a selection of home products to help you manitain your new curls. I will never pressure you to buy anything as I know how many products Curly girls can accumulate but sometimes the wrong product gives the wrong result.

Preparing for your curly cut
Over the years, many of my curly clients have experienced a traumatic wet cut not allowing for shrinkage, spring and hydration. It's for this very reason, I accidentally fell into cutting curly hair dry and my goal is for you to actually enjoy getting a haircut without the worry of guessing if it will be too short or leaving with a frizz ball! Please have an open mind though, if you have avoided a salon for 1 to 2 years, you may need a bit more length or layers off to get the condition back. It's all about the long game!
